Tenuta L'Impostino Montecucco Impostino Riserva 2015
From the volcanic slopes of Monte Amiata in southern Tuscany, this Riserva represents one of Italy's emerging appellations: Montecucco DOC, where Sangiovese-based wines benefit from altitude (150-400 meters), lava-rich soils, and breezes from both central Italy and the Tyrrhenian coast. The blend is 80% Sangiovese with Merlot, Syrah, and Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in large oak. The 2015 vintage was exceptional across Tuscany—warm enough for full ripeness, with August rains that preserved freshness. Now a decade old and drinking in its sweet spot.
