Lucano Amaro
Created in 1894 by Cavalier Pasquale Vena in the back of his biscuit factory in Pisticci, a small town in Basilicata, southern Italy. Vena's passion for herbology produced a formula of over 30 botanicals—including gentian, cinchona, bitter and sweet orange, mugwort, rhubarb, mint, and licorice—macerated in grape neutral spirit, hot-infused, then aged five months in oak casks. In 1900, the House of Savoy officially adopted Amaro Lucano, giving it national recognition. Still produced in Pisticci Scalo by the Vena family. 28% ABV.
