Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato 2021
One of Barolo's legendary monopole vineyards—owned almost entirely by the Mascarello family since Maurizio purchased the first parcel in 1904. Introduced as a single-vineyard bottling in 1921, Monprivato in Castiglione Falletto is one of only three great monopole crus in Barolo. Mauro Mascarello's approach is 'enlightened traditionalism': floating-cap fermentation, approximately 3.5 years in old Slavonian oak botti from the 1950s, unfined and unfiltered. The 2021 vintage produced Nebbiolo of exceptional purity and fine-grained structure.
