Giovanni Canonica Barolo Grinzane Cavour 2020
Giovanni Canonica inherited old vines in Grinzane Cavour—some over 50 years old and containing the rare "rosé" clone of Nebbiolo—and has crafted a Barolo of exceptional complexity and purity. Fermented with 30-40 days of maceration, the wine ages for 24 months in concrete and large oak barrels, emerging with a light red color and orange hues that speak to elegance. Ripe fruit, violets, roses, forest floor spice, and balsamic notes unfold with finesse and length. Only 1,000 bottles exist.
