Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanee 2020 [NET]
Céline Fontaine's interpretation of La Romanée—the same celebrated steep, east-facing Premier Cru as the Maltroye and Pillot versions, but from a different parcel and a different hand. Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard was created in 1985 through the marriage of Laurence Gagnard (of the historic Gagnard-Delagrange estate) and Richard Fontaine. Céline, their daughter, joined in 2007 and now guides the 12-hectare domaine. Her style is intense, focused, and complex—wines that start accessible but have the structure to age. Aged 12 months in French oak, five months in tank.
