Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin
The gin that helped launch the modern cocktail revival, built on a recipe adapted from Thomas Dakin's 1761 Warrington Dry Gin formula. The key innovation is the carterhead still: instead of steeping botanicals in liquid, Bombay Sapphire passes alcohol vapor through a copper basket containing ten botanicals—juniper, coriander, licorice, orris root, almond, lemon peel, cassia, angelica, cubeb, and grains of paradise. This vapor infusion creates a lighter, more delicate botanical profile than traditional London Dry methods. Since 2014, produced at the beautifully restored Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire.
