The Colonnello represents perhaps the most elegant of Aldo Conterno's three Cru Barolos, balancing meaty, spicy power with perfume and finesse. The 2021 displays aromas of blackberries, walnuts, spices, and mushrooms alongside strawberry and cherry fruit. Ultra-fine tannins and bright acidity frame a full body with incredible length. This wine demands patience—it needs four to five years to fully integrate and reveal its complete complexity.
